wind power
Renewable Energy Source -There are huge potentials to generate a major portion our future energy needs in the mountains and coastal areas of the west and east as well as our vast plains area.
..................................................................................
Environmental Benefits - The major environmental benefit that wind power has is we can utilize this wind not as a carrier of pollution but more as a resource for generating electricity from these prevailing westerlies. We can eliminate the source of pollution and use the same resource to generate non polluting wind power.
..................................................................................
Economic Benefits- Unlike yesteryear's windmill, today's wind turbines use technological innovations that have substantially reduced the cost of electricity generated from wind power. As technology improves the price of wind power per KW keeps going down.
...................................................................................
Community Support - Many cities and towns are supporting the concept of having a wind farm in their town. It is a way for them to show their support in doing their part to promote environmental awareness. Any community would also benefit from the increase in tourism that accompanies a wind farm site. The tax base would increase and a local source of electricity would be available to meet their power needs.
......................................................................................
Government Support - Incentives and tax rebates for green power initiatives are on going and are available from the federal government. Currently any wind power project can expect a 1.8 cent per KWH of electricity generated to be rebated back for the next ten years. Research Grants are available for new wind technologies and have been applied for by Green Ridge Wind Farms to assist with the development of some new technology. State funded incentives are also available and vary from state to state.
Wind power now

Visions of a Windy Future
Wind power is the fastest growing utility in the world. Germany is the largest producer of electricity from wind power and will be tripling their capacity within the next decade. Europe has been taking advantage of their wind resources for decades. The time has come for North America to do the same.

A new environmental battle cry of “Wind Power Now” can be heard across North America. Canada is saying that 20% of their energy will come from wind by 2020. The Department of Energy (DOE) goal is to have 100 Megawatts of Wind Power in 16 states by 2010. A further DOE goal is to have 100 Gigawatts by 2020. Green Ridge Wind Farms is poised to develop as many sites as possible to assist the DOE in realizing this goal. Green Ridge Energy owns a wind site and many other potential sites in the northeast are currently being evaluated. Agreements are being negotiated with landowners, municipalities, agricultural, industrial and institutional entities who are interested in being associated with this green power movement.

Join us in making this vision of a windy future a reality and eliminate dependence on foreign oil, reduce our energy costs while saving the environment.
